The Rising Tide
ABC launched a new mysterious website. The Rising Tide looks like it is a website connected to Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., which was picked up this week by ABC as a new TV series, which will start in the fall of this year.
The Rising Tide might be an organization that will feature in Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. to uncover S.H.I.E.L.D. and their clandestine missions. The headline of the side says:
WHO IS S.H.I.E.L.D.? WHAT ARE THEY HIDING? SUPER-POWERS ARE REAL. ALIENS EXIST. WHAT ELSE IS OUT THERE? WE WILL UNCOVER THE TRUTH. WE WILL NOT REMAIN SILENT ANY LONGER.
Keep our site and The Rising Tide to stay up to date of everything about your new favorite TV Show Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is a G.O. for next season on ABC, and below EW.com has the show’s official logo.
It’s steely.
It’s shiny.
It’s got a little lens-flare action.
It’s everything a gang of crime-stoppers facing a world of fantastic threats could want. And this marks just the beginning of the S.H.I.E.L.D. news coming your way over the next week. ABC will debut the first promo during the Once Upon a Time finale Sunday night. Here’s the logo:

Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Picked Up By ABC
It shouldn't surprise people that a lot of critics and TV viewers were eagerly awaiting the announcement that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. would be picked up to series. This is probably ABC's most high profile series for the 2013-2014 and the reason why is completely obvious. Not only is it from Joss Whedon, creator of the critically acclaimed and beloved cult show Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but it's also a Marvel show that essentially spawns from Whedon's highly-grossing and incredibly popular The Avengers film from last summer.
This news comes at the end of a long week of frantic announcements from the various networks about new show pick-ups, renewals and cancellations, but it's probably the one that will definitely have people celebrating as we head into the weekend. Whedon, his brother Jed Whedon and Jed's wife, Maurissa Tancharoen (who all collaborated on Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog) are penning the pilot episode.
Known cast members include: ER's Ming-Na stars as Agent Melinda May, The Avengers' Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Killing Lincoln's Brett Dalton as gruff rising star Agent Grant Ward, Elizabeth Henstridge as science whiz Agent Gemma Simmons, Iain De Caestecker as tech guru Agent Leo Fitz and Nashville's Chloe Bennet as Skye, a superhero-obsessed woman.
Rumor has it that ABC will be pushing hard for this series, perhaps beginning its marketing campaign during Sunday's Once Upon a Time season finale.
There's no doubt that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is an eagerly anticipated show for fall 2013, so we can't wait to start seeing footage of it!

Joss Whedon Doesn't Eat Unicorns
On Whedonesque, Joss Whedon published an open letter about the wild rumors about him. Read the letter here:
Hi guys.
I was going to let it slide, but I’ve got this sour taste in my mouth. (Mmmm, lemonade!). Some facts are not facts. I’m not going to go into the whole thing, but jeepers, I’m not getting $100 mil on Avengers 2. If I were, I would come on this site and laugh and laugh and laugh. I’m not making Downey money. I’m making A LOT, which is exciting. I’m not pretending to be a poor farmer, an Everyman, an ANYman. But that number is nuts. A few other things about me that have been “reported” that people should take with a grain of salt:
That I throw wild Hollywood parties where everyone is naked and dancing and wild and I remember to serve enough snacks.
That I can get a movie greenlit by sighing and staring into the middle distance.
That I ate a unicorn and made it winter for three years.
That I “can write.”
Well, that’s a load off. Sorry to get so personal — the whole thing’s a bit tawdry. But honestly, it bugged me. I’m off for a nice juicy steak. There’s a place downtown that does it with rosemary butter, it tastes just like unico — like a steak.
BYE-ee! J.
