Ant-Man movie gets a release date

For a while already we know that Marvel will bring Ant-Man to the big screen too. Now we know when.

November 6, 2015

It is sounds like it is far, far away, but note the date already in your agenda. Disney revealed this date today in a press release.

As already know Edgar Wright will direct this movie. Further details about the storyline, casting or if this movie will have to do anything with The Avengers movie or the S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show are not know. But we do expect that the upcoming Marvel movies will give some information about this movie. Rumors go around already that there will be a post-credit scene about Ant-Man in Iron Man 3.

Disney also revealed that Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World will have a 2D and a 3D release.

S.H.I.E.L.D. character revealed

We already know our beloved Agent Coulson will be staring in the new Joss Whedon TV show, but who will be the other character that will be staring.

It is not know yet who the character will be played by, but the casting calls are known:

SKYE | This late-20s woman sounds like a dream: fun, smart, caring and confident – with an ability to get the upper hand by using her wit and charm.

AGENT GRANT WARD | Quite the physical specimen and “cool under fire,” he sometimes botches interpersonal relations. He’s a quiet one with a bit of a temper, but he’s the kind of guy that grows on you.

AGENT ALTHEA RICE | Also known as “The Calvary,” this hard-core soldier has crazy skills when it comes to weapons and being a pilot. But her experiences have left her very quiet and a little damaged.

AGENT LEO FITZ and AGENT JEMMA SIMMONS | These two came through training together and still choose to spend most of their time in each other’s company. Their sibling-like relationship is reinforced by their shared nerd tendencies – she deals with biology and chemistry, he’s a whiz at the technical side of weaponry.

It is interesting that Skye doesn't have the title of Agent. So we assume, she won't be working as an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., but more as a consultant.

Further it seems that none of these characters will have superpowers.

Who do you think should be cast for these parts?

Gina Torres and Amy Acker unlikely to join S.H.I.E.L.D.

We hoped to see one of out favorite actresses back from Firefly in the upcoming S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show, but it seems like Gina Torres won't join the cast, as we know from TVLine that she will join the new NBC series Hannibal:

Hannibal Exclusive: Gina Torres Is Jack's Wife! Get More:

Gina Torres is joining NBC’s contemporary Hannibal Lecter series as the wife of Laurence Fishburne’s G-Man Jack Crawford, TVLine has learned exclusively.

Like Hannibal‘s Caroline Dhavernas, Molly Shannon, Chelan Simons and Ellen Greene, Torres — who will juggle the recurring gig with her full-time job on USA Network’s Suits — previously worked with Hannibal exec producer Bryan Fuller: She played beautiful grifter Lila Robinson in Fuller’s Pushing Daisies. The actress also has a connection to onscreen spouse Fishburne — she’s married to him!

Hannibal, which is based on characters from Thomas Harris’ Red Dragon, centers on the budding relationship between FBI agent Will Graham (played by Hugh Dancy) and his mentor Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) – who are re-introduced at the beginning of their budding relationship. It’s slated to bow at midseason.

Also Amy Acker already let us know trough Spinoff Online she probably won't join the cast.

"I don't think I'll be involved in S.H.I.E.L.D. but I'm very excited about S.H.I.E.L.D." she said. "I think it's going to be a great show."

That said, she definitely wants to work with Whedon again. In addition to Much Ado, she hoped that he keeps having parts for her in his projects.

"I just did Much Ado About Nothing with Joss, so we have that," she said. "It's very exciting, that will be coming out in the spring. I hope I get the chance to work with him again. He's obviously a very important part of my life and my career. It's a lucky person to get to say what they write, and it's always really good."

Did you hope one of there actresses would join the cast?
